How to resize an image to exact dimensions

Resizing is different from compressing: compressing keeps the same dimensions but reduces file size by encoding more efficiently, while resizing actually changes how many pixels wide and tall the image is. Both are useful, and often you'll want to do both.

With Tool King's Image Resizer, you set a target width and/or height in pixels. If you only set one of the two and leave 'keep aspect ratio' on, the other dimension is calculated automatically so the image doesn't get stretched or squashed.

This matters most when a platform has a strict size requirement — a profile photo that must be exactly 400×400, a banner image with a fixed width, or a form that rejects anything above a certain resolution. Rather than guessing and re-exporting from your original editing software, you can hit the exact number directly.

Keep in mind that enlarging an image beyond its original resolution doesn't add real detail — it stretches existing pixels, so very small source images will look softer once scaled up significantly.
